Play Reviews

Little Tiger Jumping Jack

Little Tiger Jumping Jack is a Florence Elderflower production of a play written for anyone who has the time or the inclination to watch it. It is about a boy learning to drive his dads car with all the comedy and quick wit you would expect from Florence.

Do not read on if you do not want to spoil the ending!!!

The opening moments and then final scene concludes with a screech of brakes and clatter of the family dustbins which is a running gag throughout the play, along with the boys desperate attempts to convince his dad to pay for proper driving lessons.

All the stresses and strains of supervising a learner driver come close to the surface and it is apparent that they are just wanting to overflow or even explode at any given moment without warning.

Over all, I would highly recommend this play, it is well written with ample laughs for all the family (especially if you have been through the whole driving lessons and learner driver thing yourself!).

Malcolm Smith - Traffic Cop

This is another classic play from Florence Elderflower, and is again along the driving or at least car theme.

In his own 'boy racer' car, Malcolm spends a significant portion of his time ensuring that he does not get into trouble himself, at the same time as making sure that others do!

With all the quick wit you would expect, Malcolm shows a rather less professional (but rather funny) side of his 'traffic' police persona. Full of hilarious contradictions, this play is worth every penny, should you get the opportunity to go.
